Garry Gable: Garry Gable's rich bass-baritone has provided him with performing opportunities across Canada and into the United States. He has ably spanned the vocal spectrum from Broadway to Pop, and of course classical music. His successes include appearance with the Canadian Opera Company, Charlottetown Festival, Victoria Symphony (with CBC-TV), Windsor Symphony, Saskatoon Symphony, Michigan Opera Theatre, and the Toledo Opera. Many recitals can be counted among Dr. Gable's performances as well. He completed his graduate studies at the University of Michigan. While performing is a very important part of his life, Dr. Gable is also a well-known and respected teacher of singing as well. His students have enjoyed successes in various competitions from the local, Provincial, and National Festivals, to the Metropolitan Opera and Canadian Opera auditions, and many have successful careers of their own. Dr. Gable is currently Head of the Department of Music at the University of Saskatchewan, and has been Chair of Voice since coming to Saskatoon in 1994. His teaching responsibilities include private studio, vocal literature, pedagogy, opera, and is Director of the Music Theatre Ensemble. |
